ABOUT:
Emma Kohlmann was born in 1989, grew up in the Bronx, and has been based out of rural western Massachusetts for most of her career. She’s gained considerable attention for the world she’s created in her ink washes and watercolors, inhabited by people and things living together in a shared dimension of color and shape. With her comes a long list of global exhibitions as well as illustrations in countless zines and culture magazines including Vogue.
The particular piece here was commissioned by the nonprofit organization Art For Change as a series of signed and numbered archival prints. It’s displayed in a vintage frame with the nicks and blemishes expected of a frame its age, the art itself in pristine condition.
